Meet Eligibility Requirements
Pass 10+2 (or equivalent) with a minimum aggregate (commonly around 60%) in required subjects (PCM or PCB / related depending on course).
Age limit: Usually candidates should be born on or after a specified date (for VITEEE, e.g. 1st July 2003 for 2025) to qualify.

Once VITEEE results are declared, candidates with valid scores proceed to counselling.
During counselling, candidates select campuses and branches based on their rank, availability, and preferences.
Admission for PG & Other Courses
For M.Tech: VIT conducts VITMEE (Master’s Entrance Exam) for selection into postgraduate engineering programmes.
For M.Sc (2-year) courses: Admission is often based on undergraduate degree marks (merit), sometimes without an entrance test.
International / NRI / Foreign Application
Foreign nationals / OCI / NRI applicants have separate application processes or categories. Some may require VITEEE rank, others may apply via merit if direct admission under certain categories.

For many Group A B.Tech programmes (Civil, EEE, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Fashion Technology, Health Sciences etc.), first year tuition is approx INR 1,73,000, with INR 3,000 refundable caution deposit. Total for first year ~ INR 1,76,000.
For Group B B.Tech programmes (CSE & specialisations, ECE, etc.), first year tuition is approx INR 1,95,000, plus similar caution deposit (~ INR 3,000), so total ~ INR 1,98,000 for first year.
Other UG programmes:
B.Arch (Vellore): ~ INR 3,10,000 tuition + ~ INR 5,000 deposit.
B.Des (Industrial Design): ~ INR 1,73,000 tuition + ~ INR 5,000 deposit first year.
B.Sc. (Hons Agriculture): Categories applied; first year ~ INR 1,10,000 to ~ INR 2,25,000 depending on category + deposit.
Other non-engineering UG courses have lower tuition (e.g. BCA, B.Sc Computer Science etc.) — e.g. ~ INR 90,000 for first year for many of these.
Integrated M.Tech programmes: Fees differ by category. For Vellore, Chennai & AP:
• Category 1: ~ INR 96,000/year for first 3 years
• Category 2: ~ INR 1,59,000/year
• Category 3: ~ INR 1,92,000/year
Integrated M.Sc programmes: Usually ~ INR 75,000/year (for several such programmes at Vellore / Bhopal).
M.Sc. / PG science specializations: Examples: Applied Microbiology, Biomedical Genetics etc. ~ INR 80,000/year (Vellore campus) for some PG science courses.
For international / foreign students, fees are usually quoted in USD. For example:
• M.Tech / MCA / MBA / M.Des etc: ~ USD 6,450 tuition + USD 50 deposit (total ~ USD 6,500/yr).
• UG - B.Tech for NRI / international category: e.g. first year USD ~ 9,000 + small caution deposit (~ USD 100) depending on campus.
In 2024, VIT Vellore had about 867 companies visit and placed 7,526 students (from BTech, MBA, MCA etc.).
The highest package offered in 2024 was INR 88 LPA.
The average package across the board in 2024 was approx INR 9.90 LPA.
For 2025 so far, VIT has reported its highest package reaching INR 1 Crore per annum.
In Chennai campus in 2025, there were 3,160 offers in the placement drives. Out of those, 2,192 were unique offers and 1,457 were regular offers.
Also in Chennai (2024), there were 763 “dream offers” (above ~INR 6 LPA) and 936 “super-dream offers” (above ~INR 10 LPA).
VIT Vellore has 24-32 hostel blocks (18+ male / rest female). These host over 22,000-30,000 residents per year.
Rooms are AC & non-AC; options for single/shared beds. Furniture includes study table, chair, cot, bookshelf, wardrobe etc.
Amenities include WiFi, laundry, first-aid, food kiosks, visitor lounges, beauty salon / tailoring units, etc.
Safety / supervision: 24×7 security guards, wardens, supervisors, residential counselors.
Vellore campus spans ~ 372 acres; Chennai campus ~ 192 acres.
